About Us
First planted in 1881, the historic Monte Olivos Estate in St. Helena is one of the oldest, consistantly farmed olive orchards in the Napa Valley.
Originally planted by wine country legend Charles Krug, the estate was made up of over 1,200 Italian and Spanish olive trees spread across 25 acres.
After the property was abandoned in 1972, the grove fell into a state of wildness that would take years to recover from.
When the Hernandez family purchased the property in 2012, one of the first priorities was to bring the grove back to its former glory. After almost ten years of careful pruning and canopy management, the surviving 550 trees have since been coaxed back to health and are now producing again.
Currently, there are over 700 trees being cared for on the property, a combination of Tuscan, Scicilian and Spanish varietals that produces a golden, subtly-spicy oil that is unlike any other.
